Safety Programs and Policies

We maintain a health and safety program conforming to the best practices in our industry.

Our Company supports cooperation in all health and safety matters, not only between management and employees, but also between each employee and his or her co-workers.    Our program starts with proper attitudes toward injury and illness prevention on the part of both management and employees.

The personal health and safety of each employee of McGregor Construction 2000 Ltd. is of primary importance to the Company.  Our objective is to reduce the number of injuries and illnesses to an absolute minimum, not merely in keeping with, but surpassing, the best experience in our industry.  Our goal is zero accidents and injuries.

McGregor Construction 2000 Ltd. has a safety program that has been accredited by the Alberta Department of Labour since 1994.  We currently hold a Certificate of Recognition for our safety programs and procedures.  The Certificate is given to companies that demonstrate significant investment in and commitment to safe work practices.  The Certificate is maintained by annual internal and periodic external audits.

All our employees receive orientation training that focuses on our safety program.  The program is documented in a comprehensive, written safety policy that is accompanied by a safe work procedures manual.  Our full time safety supervisor monitors the program.  We are also members of an industry group called Tri-M Loss Control that addresses current safety issues in the power line industry, and advises management on safety policy compliance and improvement.
